Precautions
Precautions 1
The target version is WAS-LX1A 8.0.0.394(C432). After reading the feature description of the version carefully, excise caution when performing upgrade.
Software version requirements
Ensure that your phone uses Huawei official source version. If your phone has been upgraded to a non-official version, upgrade may fail and unknown issues may be introduced.
Do not attempt to use customized versions for other countries. Otherwise, upgrade may fail and unknown issues may be introduced.
Hardware version requirements
Software applies only to HUAWEI WAS-LX1A phones. If the upgrade is performed on other phone of other models, a power-on failure may occur.
Huawei's in-warranty maintenance is not applicableto faults caused by violations of the preceding precautions.
Precautions 2
Upgrading your phone will erase all user data. Back up your data before the upgrade.
Ensure that the battery power is more than 30% at the beginning of the upgrade.
This upgrade guideline is applicable to O-O upgrade mode, and does not apply to N-O upgrade mode.

The upgrade environment is applicable to HUAWEI WAS-LX1A phones. You need to perform the upgrade using a microSD card.

Verifying the Upgrade Environment
Verify that the microSD card is readable and writable and the available space of the microSD card is greater than 8 GB. A microSD card of SanDisk, Kingston, or KINGMAX is recommended.

Verifying Software Upgrade Packages
Verify software upgrade packages. The table in section 3.1 "Upgrade Preparation List" describes the corresponding packages.
Check the SD upgrade software package. Each vendor/country corresponds to a data package. The vendor/country varies according to product. (Pay attention to the integrity of the directory file.)
Upgrade introduction
There are two upgrade modes: normal upgrade and forcible upgrade.
Normal upgrade is applicable to the scenario where users upgrade the version or other scenarios required.
Forcible upgrade is applicable to the scenario where a power-on failure to be rectified occurs or other scenarios required.
Procedure
Performing Normal Upgrade Using a microSD Card
Prepare a microSD card that has available space of at least 8 GB (a microSD card of SanDisk, Kingston, or KINGMAX is recommended).
(Optional) Format the microSD card.
Verify the integrity of the dload directory, copy the content in the dload directory to the microSD card root directory dload.
Verify the integrity of the microSD card root directory. For details, see section 3.2 "Verifying Software Upgrade Packages."
Insert the microSD card, power on the phone, enter *#*#2846579#*#* to access the ProjectMenu menu, choose Software Upgrade>SDCard Upgrade, and touch OK.

The phone enters the upgrade mode after restart (the main package and customized package are upgraded together). The upgrade progress is displayed during the upgrade. The phone automatically restarts after the upgrade is complete (the following figures are for reference only).

Performing Forcible Upgrade Using a microSD Card
Prepare a microSD card that has available space of at least 8 GB (a microSD card of SanDisk, Kingston, or KINGMAX is recommended).
(Optional) Format the microSD card.

Verify the integrity of the dload directory, copy the content in the dload directory to the microSD card root directory dload.
Verify the integrity of the microSD card root directory. For details, see section 3.2 "Verifying Software Upgrade Packages."
Power off the phone, insert the microSD card, and press and hold the volume up, volume down, and power buttons simultaneously for the phone to automatically enter the upgrade mode and perform the upgrade (the following figures are for reference only).
The upgrade progress is displayed during the upgrade. The phone automatically restarts after the upgrade is complete (the following figures are for reference only).

Verification and Troubleshooting
Verifying the Version
Power on the phone, choose Settings>System >About phone, and verify the version number.

Traversing Basic Functions
Properly power on the phone, enter the standby screen, enter a phone number, and verify that the call is successful. Press and hold the power button to power off the phone, and verify that the phone is powered off properly.
Traverse all APKs and verify that all APKs are normal.

Performing Troubleshooting
If the upgrade still fails after you strictly follow the procedure and do not violate any precautions, send the phone to your nearest local maintenance center.
